When will I know when my child’s appointment is?
You will receive notification of your child’s appointment at least 2 months ahead of time via email. You will also receive a reminder notification (via phone) within 1 month of your appointment.
If you do not confirm your appointment within 2 weeks of your appointment date, your time will be cancelled and filled.
What if I need to cancel my child’s appointment?
Please call as soon you can to allow for another patient to be put into that appointment time.
If you do not show up for your appointment AND do not call in, you will not be re-scheduled urgently.
Why do I need a referral if it has been 6 months since my child last saw Dr. Kang?
Because pediatricians in BC are consultants, this means that they are not supported by MSP to provide primary care. They will not be paid for their services without a practitioner's referral.
Will Dr. Kang provide separate appointments for parents that are not together or do not get along?
No. You will need to work out a way to give and receive information that is in your child’s best interest.
What if I want to speak with Dr. Kang before or after the appointment?
You will need to manage your time during the appointment including if you think you need confidential time without your child present.
What if I want to send a message to Dr. Kang?
You may choose to leave a message with the MOA and you may be scheduled for a call-back.
What if my school wants a letter from Dr. Kang?
A standard letter to the school can be provided upon parent’s request. Dr. Kang will not provide copies of her notes or letters directly to the school.
Will Dr. Kang fill out my child’s Disability Tax Credit?
No, Dr. Kang will not fill out Disability Tax Credit forms.
My baby has graduated from the NICU, when will we have follow up with Dr. Kang?
